Sassuolo trembles but wins, Spezia puts Pisa in its sights

Victories very important for the top of the rankings.
Sassuolo frightened by Südtirol, but able to continue the winning streak that confirms it as the runaway leader of Serie B. Behind it responds Spezia, avalanche on the field of Carrarese, and Palermo, which brakes and flanks Juve Stabia. Catanzaro and Pisa cancel each other out, slowing their race toward Serie A.
Sunday’s Serie B represented an important crossroads for the promotion zone, and those who continue to smile at the end of the day’s four matches è especially Sassuolo. The home challenge against Südtirol turned out to be as crackling as it was difficult, with the guests ending the first half ahead thanks to goals from Odogwu and Pyyhtia (Berardi’s signature in between). In the second half, Doig and Boloca put a smile on the neroverdi’s face, joined again by Pietrangeli before Laurentié and Volpato signed the final 5-3.
Definitely more scarce is the scoreline of Catanzaro-Pisa, which ends 0-0, despite numerous chances (especially for the hosts). The only point picked up by the Nerazzurri in Calabria allows Spezia to move back to -5 from the second place: credit to the 4-0 win over Carrarese in Tuscany, with a double by Francesco Pio Esposito in the first half and goals by Kouda and Elia in the second half.
Finally, Palermo’s 1-0 victory at home against the highly-launched Juve Stabia was important. Le Douaron at 67' put the seal on a success that propels the Rosanero to fifth place and a share of 30 points: they are the same as the Campani, who are therefore overtaken by what could prove to be a great rival on the path to the playoffs.
