Jannik Sinner: Andy Roddick gives advice to Ben Shelton.

Andy Roddick gives advice to Ben Shelton ahead of challenge with Jannik Sinner
During an episode of the podcast "Served with Andy Roddick", former tennis player Andy Roddick, among other topics covered, tried to identify the key factors that could enable compatriot Ben Shelton to challenge Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open semifinals.
"Ben must repeatedly take big risks in the match if he is to have a chance to create problems for the world number one. Sinner will tryà to insist on Shelton’s backhand, while he will have to try to minimize exchanges and as soon as the opportunity presents itself; be aggressive even daring something. It's the only way he can win" began the former American tennis player.
"Sinner's latest performances are elevating him to tennis's all-time greats. I read a lot of negative comments about de Minaur after the loss to Jannik, but the fact that he lost doesn't mean he isn't a good player. He's number eight in the world, è a good fighter and athlete. The problem è that he didn't have any chance against blue in the quarterfinals" added Andy Roddick.
Further complicating Ben Shelton’s task is Jannik Sinner’s extraordinary record against American players in Grand Slam tournaments. The South Tyrolean, in fact, has è won 14 out of 14 matches against U.S. tennis players.
