Jannik Sinner-Sebastian Korda 6-1 6-2

Velvet debut for Jannik Sinner in the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. The South Tyrolean tennis player, in fact, overwhelmed U.S. Sebastian Korda, number 27 in the ATP ranking, leaving him with only 3 games. 6-1 6-2 the score in favor of the Italian, accrued after just an hour and a quarter of play.

Sinner started off strong immediately and won the break in the opening game, then consolidated the lead (2-0), having to cancel however, two counter-break balls to Korda. In the fifth game, the South Tyrolean placed a second break, taking advantage of a few too many errors by the U.S. who also surrendered in the seventh game, giving up serve for the third time in the set. Sinner thus cashes in the partial 6-1.

The balance is also short-lived in the second partial: Korda is saved in the second game, but not in the fourth where he è forced to give up service to Sinner. The Italian, always in control of the exchange, confirmed the break without problems and repeated it in the eighth game, also winning the second set 6-2.

Sinner thus earns a place in the round of 16 of the Monegasque Masters 1000, where he will face German Jan-Lennard Struff, world No. 25, whom he recently met in the round of 16 at the Indian Wellls Masters 1000, where he defeated the South Tyrolean in two sets (6-3 6-4).
