Simone Origone and Valentina Greggio super: blue double in Vars

Simone Origone and Valentina Greggio shine in the second stage of the Speed Skiing World Cup in Vars. The 33-year-old Piedmontese hit the 47th success in her career, thus dropping the tris after the victories in the first two races, in the Finnish SallaTunturi. Second success of the season instead for the Valdostan, who signed the 61st career victory.

Already commanding operations in the semifinals, Valentina Greggio further increased her speed, touching 179.430 km/h to precede France’s Clea Martinez (175.480 km/h) and Sweden’s Agnes Abrahamsson (174.410), who beat compatriot Siri Kling Andersson (174.080) in the duel for the third step of the podium.

Origone on the other hand, was able to take the lead right at the decisive moment: second in run2 on Thursday, second in the semifinals, first when it mattered most. The Italian found the cue to climb to 180.880 kilometers per hour and overtake German Klaus Schottshammer, who had preceded him in the semifinals, by a pasting: 180.750km/h was the tally of the Teutonic who had to settle for the place of honor, with Frenchman Bastien Montes (179.920) blowing away from 'captain' Simon Billy (179.580) the satisfaction of the third step of the podium.

Just behind, Ivan Origone è fifth with 179.070 km/h while Samuele Capello had stopped with 23rd place in the semifinal.
