Double blow in midfield of Cremonese

Cremonese announces that it has purchased Mattia Valoti outright from Monza and Francesco Gelli soon from Frosinone.

Born in Vicenza on Sept. 6, 1993, Valoti, after taking his first steps between Crotone and Dalmine, entered the youth academy of Albinoleffe, a club with which he made his Serie B debut at only 17 years of age. His career continued between Milan, where he played for a year and a half in the Primavera, and Albinoleffe again: in Bluceleste he played 27 Serie C matches (with 7 goals) between January 2013 and June 2014. The good performances are worth the call dell’Hellas Verona, in which he plays until 2018 collecting 65 appearances, 7 goals and 9 assists between Serie A, B and Coppa Italia, except for a season spent in the cadetteria with Pescara and Livorno.

In the summer of 2018 he moved to Spal: in the Estense shirt he played two years in Serie A and one in Serie B, with a haul of 18 goals and 4 assists in 86 games. In 2021 he moved to Monza and, under the orders of coach Stroppa, won the playoffs and won promotion to Serie A (the second of his career after the one with Verona in 2016) and then played 14 games in the top league the following season. Last year he netted 10 goals and 3 assists in Serie B with the Pisa shirt, while in 2024-25 he collected 9 appearances with Monza. Overall, he boasts 108 games in Serie A (with 9 goals and 3 assists) and 135 in Serie B (35 goals, 17 winning passes).

Gelli, born on October 15, 1996 in Livorno, grew up football-wise in the youth sector of the amaranthos and then moved to Tuttocuoio, with whom he made his debut in Serie C when he was only 17 years old, in 2014: at the end of the season there will be 12 appearances between league and cup. After a parenthesis with the jersey of Valdinievole Montecatini (with which he reached the playoff final of Serie D), he returned to neroverde and recorded 28 appearances in Lega Pro in 2016-17. In the summer he moved to al'Albinoleffe, with which he collected 11 goals and 23 assists in 169 games played over the course of five and a half years: in January 2023 he moved to Frosinone and contributed to the Giallobl&ugrave's Serie B victory, playing 10 games, while the following season he made his Serie A debut, taking the field on 27 occasions and showing great ductility and self-sacrifice. In the first part of 2024-25, again with the Ciociari, he recorded 18 appearances and 1 assist.
