An Adventure in the Balkans for Stefano Sensi

Stefano Sensi is CSKA Sofia’s newest player. The Bulgarian club itself announced the arrival of the former Inter and Monza player—among others—who, after a season in Cyprus, is packing his bags and heading to the Balkan Peninsula. Sensi has signed a two-year contract and will wear the club’s No. 8 jersey, as the team looks to capitalize on the experience and individual skills of the player born in 1995.

Having developed as a player in Urbania, Rimini, and Cesena before turning professional in 2013, Sensi has played for Cesena, Sassuolo, Inter, Sampdoria, and Monza, winning two Scudetti and two Italian Super Cups with the Nerazzurri during a period when he also played a key role for the national team.

Plagued by injuries, the midfielder from the Marche region agreed to get back on the field with Anorthosis in September 2025, where he regained consistency and a central role. In 27 games, he has tallied nine goals and seven assists—statistics that caught CSKA’s attention and explain the club’s decision to sign him to strengthen its midfield.

The move to the Balkans represents a new opportunity for Sensi: “CSKA welcomes him with the hope that he will bring order, vision, and reliability to the midfield,” reads the statement released by the club, which has won 31 domestic championships, the most recent of which was in the 2007–2008 season.
