Danilo Gallinari reunites with old friend in Puerto Rico

The Vaqueros de Bayamon are serious. They last won a title in Baloncesto Superior Nacional, Puerto Rico’s top basketball league, in 2022. The club aims to reconfirm in 2025. Hence the decision to land major blows, of international caliber.

After signing Gallinari, 36, 16 seasons in the NBA, the Vaqueros also finalized the purchase of McGee, a 37-year-old long player with a very long militancy in the NBA with no less than three rings won in his career (two with the Golden State Warriors, one with the Los Angeles Lakers jersey, alongside LeBron James).

Interestingly, the Rooster and McGee know each other well, having played together in Denver. From 2012 to 2015, they were teammates at the Nuggets. But it doesn’t end there. The Vaqueros also brought back 40-year-old Mojica, the'former captain who won four championships in a Vaqueros jersey (MVP of the tournament Finals in 2022).

Now there's only to wait for the start of the new season (late spring) to enjoy the many talents in the Vaqueros jersey. Of course, the spotlight is on Gallinari, who is aiming to do well in Puerto Rico so he can arrive at the 2025 European Championship in perfect condition and try to win something important with the national team jersey to which he has dedicated so many years of his long career.
