Tables in triumph

Flora Tabanelli è second in the Big Air in Aspen (United States), stays on the World Cup podium for the fifth consecutive race and mathematically makes the Big Air World Cup hers.
The 17-year-old from Emilia è the absolute protagonist of the season: one win, three second places and a third in the five races held in the season and when the final round in Tignes (March 12-13) is all that is missing from the calendar, Flora boasts 340 points in the World Cup and a very safe margin over the competition, net of the expected gap, with China’s Liu second at 216. All to write a’further page of history, just days having broken the bank in the legendary X-Games, in Aspen itself.

The Colorado challenge gave the first career victory to Canadian Megan Oldham, who with 183.75 points è was the only one to do better than the 175.25 of the youngest of the Tabanelli sisters, author of a 79.75-point first run then improved by the next two runs, which yielded in order 91 and 84.25 points.

The third step of the podium was then taken by Finland’s Anni Karava, who scored 157.50 in the third run to overtake Switzerland’s Anouk Karava and France’s Tess Ledeux.

The’appointment for Flora Tabanelli è is now set for the final act of the World Cup, followed a few days later by the World Championships in Engadin (Switzerland) that will award the Big Air rainbow title on March 29.
