Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, no combined

Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone out
There are three pairs that Italy will field in the women’s combined team event at the World Championships in Saalbach, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11. The format, presented for the first time at a rainbow event, will feature one downhill run and one slalom run with different athletes.
Sofia Goggia, Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino, with their heads already on the giant slalom, will not participate in the event.
The final time will be determined simply by adding up the two partials, like a normal cup race, in which the starting order of the slalom will be established by reversing the thirty. The blue team will present Elena Curtoni/Martina Peterlini, Nicol Delago/Marta Rossetti and Laura Pirovano/Giorgia Collomb at the start. The downhill heat will start at 10:00 a.m., the slalom at 1:15 p.m., live telecast on Rai Due and Eurosport.
In the meantime, the organizers of the World Championships communicated the numbers of the first week of competitions regarding the spectators: the women’s super-giant was attended by 14500 people, the men’s super-giant was attended by 15700, while the women’s downhill was attended by 15800 people (with almost 900 thousand viewers glued to Raidue for 9% share), the record was reached for the men’s downhill with 22500 people in the stands.
