Jannik Sinner suspended: Martina Navratilova doesn’t pull any punches

Among the various exponents of the tennis world, former WTA Ranking number one Martina Navratilova, through her "X" profile, also wished to comment in no uncertain terms on the three-month disqualification of Jannik Sinner issued by WADA over the Clostebol case.

"I think this decision really sucks. We try to keep dopers out and Sinner is not è one of them. This three-month suspension doesn’t help anyone. At least Jannik will be done with this and will have a forced vacation during this period. With this decision, tennis has lost in every way" this is the comment of the 18-time Slam Champion.

In recent days, there have been several colleagues and former players who have openly come out in favor of the world number one, one among them Jack Draper, who wanted to emphasize how the disqualification of the South Tyrolean also goes to affect the image of tennis in general.

Jannik Sinner will return to play in May, when the clay season gets into full swing with the Internazionali d'Italia in Rome and, most importantly, Roland Garros in Paris. He is scheduled to return to training on April 13, according to schedule. Sinner, during the period of stop, should be able to maintain the first position in the ranking, gained in June 2024.
