Kvitfjell: Brignone grazes the podium and stretches in the overall standings. Sofia Goggia back

Emma Aicher won the downhill in Kvitfjell, Norway, valid for the women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. The German skier, in her first career rainbow victory, edged out U.S. skier Lauren Macuga and Austria's Cornelia Hütter.

The Italians again stopped at the foot of the podium. Federica Brignone finished in fourth place, followed by Laura Pirovano and Sofia Goggia.

Federica Brignone thanks to this fourth place stretched in the overall ranking over her direct opponent, Lara Gut Behrami, who finished eighth today. " I tried to do my best and compared to yesterday something succeeded me better, other less well – are the words of the Valle d’Aosta woman reported by Fisi -. But in any case I am happy with these two days, I skied well and I grew a lot in these conditions that were not my favorite".

"I still don’t want to think about the overall standings but I like to think that I arrive in La Thuile, my home, with the red bib of downhill leader. I am sorry to have missed the podium again on this slope but I can try again tomorrow in superG".
