F1, Mattia Binotto thinks big with Audi
Sauber technical and operational director Mattia Binotto makes no secret of his excitement ahead of Audi's debut in 2026: "I am really happy to be here today working for the future of Audi in Formula One. i could not have imagined being part of something more exciting than this incredible project, which è without a doubt the most ambitious, challenging and grandiose present on the grid".
"È a choice dictated by Audi’s heritage, the fact that it has never participated in Formula 1 before and its track record of success in everything it has done in the past" are the words reported by motorsportweek.com.
"Many expect Audi to be very strong already in 2026, but we have made it clear that our goal è to fight for a championship in 2030. What matters now è is to progress every season and develop between now and 2030. Our immediate goals are not in conflict with our long-term goals; it is about setting the right goals for 2025, 2026, 2027 and beyond".
