Pirelli also lands in MotoGP. After Moto 2 and Moto3, the Italian manufacturer will become the sole supplier of tires also for the premier class from 2027. This was announced è by MotoGP itself through an official note released on its website.
"Pirelli will become the sole and official tire supplier for MotoGP starting in 2027,” it reads.
Through a five-year contract that will run up to and including 2031, which is currently being finalized, it will coincide with the season in which the championship will enter a new era, given the debut of the new motorcycles resulting from the technical regulations expected precisely from 2027".
"The strategy of a single supplier for the entire paddock is thus affirmed, to provide an ideal scale of development for the champions of tomorrow, committed on their own path to the top of the sport,” the note continues. Further details on tire equipment and specifications will be announced soon. Pirelli currently supplies the tires for Moto2, Moto3 and much of the Road to MotoGP program.
