Dominik Paris a dream in Kvitfjell: the downhill is his!

Dominik Paris wins Kvitfjell downhill race

Italian skiing is once again celebrating a World Cup victory, in the men’s field: in fact, Dominik Paris won a splendid victory in Friday’s downhill race in Kvitfjell, Norway, thus returning to victory for the first time since December 16, 2023, when he won, also in downhill, on the Saslong in Val Gardena.

The veteran Italian beat the very strong competition of Swiss athletes: finishing his run in 1'44"67, in fact, he è put himself behind the very champion Marco Odermatt, who came in at 0"32, as well as Stefan Rogentin, third at 0"63, Franjo von Allmen, fourth at 0"83, and Alexis Monney, who came in fifth at 0"83.

This season, Dominik Paris had claimed only one other podium finish, finishing third in the supergiant in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, held last Feb. 23. Thanks to this victory, Paris can boast at least one CdM success in nine of the last 10 seasons, with the only exception concerning the 2022-2023 year.

As far as the rankings are concerned, the Carabinieri athlete gains as many as seven positions in the overall one, becoming thirteenth and first of the Italians with 384 points (first overall è always Odermatt, at 1386), while in that of specialty; he rises to seventh place with 222 points (first è always Odermatt, with 525).
