WTA 1000 Indian Wells, Jasmine Paolini suffers but advances to the third round

At the end of two hours and 10 minutes of battle, world number 6 Jasmine Paolini advances to the third round of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells by beating in her debut match in the tournament the 17-year-old American of Serbian origin Iva Jovic, number 157, with the score of 7-6 1-6 6-3.

First to break è the home teenager at 2-2, but was immediately counter-breached by the Tuscan. No’other break ball for the two protagonists and it then goes to the tie-break that Paolini wins 7-3 after being down 1-2.

On 4-3 for Paolini Jasmine finally operates the decisive stretch breaching Jovic at 15 and closes the match winning also her service game at 15. Now the Tuscan from Bagni di Lucca awaits the winner between Canadian Leylah Fernandez and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian.
