Danilo Petrucci: "Only now do I understand Valentino Rossi"

Ducati centaur Danilo Petrucci in an interview with Mowmag spoke about Valentino Rossi and his career ending: "How am I? Like someone who is realizing that Valentino Rossi, as always, was right as hell! When I was a young rider and he already had a few years on his rump, Vale used to say that as you get older you have to work twice as hard…".

"There, I thought he said it that way to say that, and indeed I was convinced that as he goes on in years and still being well physically a rider, because of maturity and experience, can relax a little bit more. Take everything a little bit’ more calmly and less sweat. Then I became an old man myself and now I realize that, as Vale said, è the’exact opposite".

"If you don’t train twice as hard and if you don’t work harder than you did as a kid, others will pass you over as well as here and there. So I am going to train as well today".

Petrucci talked about the MotoGP title fight: "E’ Marc Marquez on par with Pecco Bagnaia. Or really there’è who thinks Bagnaia is already to be discarded? No kidding. In Buriram I saw him in difficulty, where we are still talking about a guy who finished third in both the Sprint and the long race, but there can be many factors, not the least of which, as he said himself, is carrying out a certain kind of work in testing. Pecco è has always been someone capable of giving his best when è under pressure".
