Netherlands technical commissioner Ronald Koeman did not mince words in explaining Joshua Zirkzee's exclusion from the Oranje’s lineup for the Nations League quarterfinal doubleheader with Spain.
"Zirkzee è not been summoned by the national team because I don't think he's good enough at this precise moment – thunders the Dutch coach, in statements reported by TuttoMercatoWeb -. In particular, when there's to kick or make a pass he often makes the wrong choice".
"We have plenty of central defenders and midfielders, while our options are limited up front, but I still think you have to earn the call-up. Right now I don’t think you deserve it. He will be able to do it in another period" Koeman concludes.
