Serie A 2024-2025: Atalanta-Inter, the probable formations

Ten months after its historic victory in Europe, Atalanta is preparing for a new test of maturity, aiming to insert itself strongly in the fight for the Scudetto. Gasperini’s team, fresh from a year that has propelled the Nerazzurri among Europe’s greats, will face Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, a side that has dominated direct clashes in recent years, winning the last seven matches against the Bergamasque.

Inter, fresh from a good recovery phase after numerous injuries, looks ready to give battle for all the trophies at stake, with the ambition of winning four titles this season. Gasperini, for his part, is never afraid to experiment, but the tactical preparation for such an important game does not admit of missteps. The 3-4-3 will remain his main choice, with Carnesecchi in goal and a defense composed of Djimsiti, Hien and Kolasinac. De Roon and Ederson will be the centerpiece of the midfield, while Bellanova and Zappacosta are set to duel on the flanks. In attack, the trident could see Retegui and Lookman as starters, with De Ketelaere as a possible surprise.

On the’other side, Inzaghi will have at his disposal a team that, though still with a few aches and pains, is returning to its best levels. The 3-5-2 è the preferred form, with Sommer in goal, a solid defense with Acerbi, Bastoni and Pavard, and a midfield dominated by Mkhitaryan, Calhanoglu and Barella. Dumfries and Carlos Augusto will be crucial on the flanks, while Lautaro Martinez and Thuram will lead the attack.
