Anna Kalinskaya gets back in the game: her future unveiled
Anna Kalinskaya è ready to get back into the game in her home tournament, the WTA 1000 in Miami. The Russian tennis player wants to put behind her a very difficult start to 2025, culminating with her elimination in the first round of Indian Wells last week, and now looks with renewed hope to the tournament in Florida, her adopted state since she has lived in Miami for years.
The tournament draw è took place last night and Anna already knows what awaits her. The Moscow athlete enters the seeding as number 32 and is seeded: she will challenge the winner of the match between Suzan Lamens of the Netherlands and Moyuka Uchijima of Japan, world numbers 70 and 52, respectively.
In case of a victory in the debut (the match will take place next Friday or Saturday), Kalinskaya will most likely face world No. 4 Jessica Pegula, while in case of qualification to the round of 16 the opponent could be compatriot Diana Schnaider.
In 2024 in Miami Anna Kalinskaya had forfeited before the round of 16 at the U.S. tournament.
