Fabio Quartararo compares Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez

In an interview with GP Racing, Yamaha’s Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, MotoGP world champion in 2021, spoke about the current season and in conclusion also made a comparison between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Here are the words of the “Diablo”.
“We have to be able to be in the top 10 on Friday (in Austin on the first day of the Grand Prix of the Americas, ed.). Before we think about getting back to the top, it would be good not to have to ask ourselves every weekend whether we will make it to Q2 or not.”
“This year is the first time everything has finally come together. Yamaha has really made a great effort to make up ground, and I’m happy to see that, although of course we’ll have to be patient to reap the benefits.”
“When you know you’re capable of fighting for the win, or at least the podium, and that your limitation is the bike, it’s not easy to accept that. You blame everyone. So when it happens to me, I think back to 2019 and I think that if Yamaha had not given me the chance to start in MotoGP, maybe I would never have had this opportunity.”
“Rossi was my childhood idol, but since I’ve been here I’ve realized who Marquez is. Honestly, he is a really great guy…His will to win and his determination are remarkable, as well as the will he has shown to want to come back after years of injuries and difficulties with Honda. Marc is a rider we can all look up to.”
