Slovenian Tadej Pocagar will race for the first time on April 13 in Paris-Roubaix, one of the major classics of the cycling season. This was announced by his team, the Uae Team Emirates XRG.

“After an internal discussion, it was decided that he would adjust his schedule to focus on the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix” reads his training website.

Pogacar will especially find his Dutch rival Mathieu van der Poel, who just deprived him of victory at Milan-San Remo, which he won for the second time after the one in 2023, instead at Roubaix he won the last two editions.

Tadej Pogacar last year succeeded in the legendary Giro d’Italia-Tour de France-world championship hat trick that in the past had succeeded only Eddy Merckx in 1974 and Stephen Roche in 1987.

This year he has already won two stages and the final classification of the UAE Tour and, for the third time in four years, the Strade Bianche.
