Frederic Vasseur defends Lewis Hamilton

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur defends Lewis Hamilton on’Equipe: “Some criticism of him has been very harsh”.
“You have to distinguish between disqualification because you are taking risks and disqualification because someone is cheating. In Formula One you go to the limit in all parameters: the greater the pressure, the greater the struggle, the closer you get to those limits, the more you take a risk”.
“We were too aggressive. That’s the way it is. This setback shows that we are striving for perfection and sometimes looking too far”.
“I hear people say Hamilton is worn out, outdated but that is not true. Look at his last race last year, he starts 16th and finishes fourth, overtaking his teammate. There were also people who told me ‘you made a lot of noise in the winter about Hamilton’s arrival. But that is not the case, it was the press that did it, we did not ask for anything”.
