Erling Haaland knocked out, season (and Italy) at risk

Bad news for Erling Haaland who due to an injury suffered over the weekend with his Manchester City side could end his season prematurely.

“Manchester City FC read in a note -can confirm that Erling Haaland suffered an injury to his left ankle during Sunday’s FA Cup quarterfinal match away to Bournemouth. Erling underwent initial examinations in Manchester on Monday morning and will now seek specialist advice to confirm the true extent of the injury. The evaluation is still ongoing to ascertain a full prognosis. Erling is expected to be fit in time to play a further part of this season, including this summer”’s Club World Cup.

Haaland could return to the field in the period between the last day of the Premier League (May 25) and the’start of the Club World Cup (June 14).

It should be noted that the match between Norway and Italy, already decisive for World Cup qualification, will take place on June 6.
