It will be Max Verstappen who will start on pole position tomorrow in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the 42nd in his career, the second of the season and the second consecutive at the Jeddah circuit. 10 thousandths his lead over the McLren of Oscar Piastri, 113 over the Mercedes ofGeorge Russell. The Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are fourth and seventh at 376 and 907 thousandths. Fifth is Kimi Antonelli in the atra Mercedes.
In Q1, Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Jack Doohan (Alpine), Nico Hulkenberg (Kick Sauber), Esteban Ocon (Haas) and Gabriel Bortoleto (Kick Sauber) are eliminated, in order. In Q2, however, Alexander Albon (Williams), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) and Oliver Bearman (Hadjar) remain out.
Shot in Q3: during the first attempt Norris, regularly the fastest in this year’s Q2, goes into the wall and of course the red flag is shown. Verstappen doesn’t let this be said twice and in both attempts he is the fastest ahead of Piastri, the first time by a thousandth, the second time by a hundredth.
Max is the only one who can keep up with the McLarens but also beat them. In the second row will start Russell and Leclerc, in the third Antonelli and a finally positive Carlos Sainz in the Williams, in the fourth Hamilton and Verstappen’s teammate Yuki Tsunoda, in the fifth Pierre Gasly on the Alpine and Norris, who once again demonstrates his fragility in the decisive moments especially against his teammate Piastri as well as Verstappen.
The second row is the first row, the second row is the second.
