Fabregas and Como, forward together: technician stays and aims high

Cesc Fabregas and Como will continue their adventure side by side. Despite recent rumors that he was being approached by some big names in European soccer, the Spanish coach seems intent on staying on the Como bench for next season as well. This is also confirmed by well-known market expert Fabrizio Romano, according to whom Fabregas has already started work together with the management to plan the summer soccer market.
At the helm of Como, Fabregas almost achieved, not yet mathematically, the goal of salvation with as many as five days in advance, proving that he is not only a great former champion on the field, but also a capable coach with clear ideas. During the pre-match press conference against Lecce, Fabregas wanted to reiterate his ties with the Lombard club, denying any contact with Roma and Milan: “I am only focused on Como. I have not received calls from other clubs.”
However, there has been an opening from Leipzig, a Bundesliga team currently looking for a new coach after Marco Rose’s exoneration. The Germans have reportedly identified Fabregas as one of the main profiles for the bench, but at the moment the former midfielder seems to prefer the continuity of the Como project.
A key element in Como’s strategy is Fabregas’ ability to attract talent. His presence is perceived by the players as a great added value. A concrete example is Alex Valle, a young talent owned by Barcelona, for whom Como is ready to exercise the 6 million euro rescission clause, making him an outright purchase. His centrality in the technical plans is yet another confirmation of the club’s ambition.
In short, Como wants to keep growing, and it will do so with Fabregas at the helm.
