Matteo Arnaldi also beats Dzumhur and flies to the round of 16 in Madrid

After the feat with Djokovic, Matteo Arnaldi also overcame the’obstacle Damir Dzumhur, number 63 in the ATP rankings, in the round of 16 of the Madrid Masters 1000. 6-4 6-3 the final score accrued in favor of the tennist Ligurian in almost two hours of play.

The balance held until 3-3: from here Arnaldi strung a streak of five consecutive games that earned him the conquest of the first set (6-3) and a break lead at the beginning of the second partial (2-0). At 3-2, however, a power problem forced the chair judge to stop the match.

Thanks to this victory, Arnaldi flies to the round of 16 of the ‘Mutua Madrid Open‘ where he will face the winner of the challenge between U.S. Frances Tiafoe, world number 17 and 16 in the seeding, and Frenchman Alexandre Muller, world number 39.
