Europa League, semi-finals first leg in the sign of the English

Victories for Tottenham and Manchester United, heading for an all-English Europa League final. The London team took a big step by beating Bodo Glimt 3-1 in the semi-final first leg played in London.
Lightning lead for Tottenham, which scored on 1′ with Brennan Johnson, the doubling on 34′ with James Maddison: on 16′ of the second half Dominic Solanke on a penalty kick scored the third.
Saltnes shortened the distance at 38′ in one of the rare offensive actions of the Norwegians, who are now called to the almost impossible mission in seven days at home.
In the other semifinal, thanks in part to numerical superiority from 35′, United, which only has Europe left to save its season, overwhelmed Athletic Bilbao 3-0.
The Red Devils, only 14th in the Premier League, defeated the Basques, who see their dream of a home final on May 21 fading away: scoring for the Englishmen Casemiro (30′) and then a brace by Portuguese captain Bruno Fernandes (37′ on a penalty kick and 49′).
