Roma: Claudio Ranieri defers and promotes Stefano Pioli

Roma soccer market: Stefano Pioli is also in the running to become the next Giallorossi coach, a race in which Cesc Fabregas could also take part. On the other hand, the one who has certainly defiled once and for all is Claudio Ranieri, who will nevertheless participate in an important way in the choice of his successor.

Taking stock of the situation was ‘Il Messaggero’, which on Saturday recalled the good relations that existed precisely between Ranieri and Pioli himself. The Emilian coach, who has passed into the collective imagination for the Scudetto won with AC Milan but who boasts a long career, is ready to return to Serie A after his parenthesis at Al-Nassr and would like nothing less than to return to Rome (a city he has long frequented in the past, however, guiding Lazio).

Contemporarily, the profile of Fabregas is much liked, but he has double-tied himself to the Como project and could be difficult to convince. Certainly, an ’eventual qualification of Roma to the next Champions League could turn the tables. Then there is a mysterious “mister X” who, however, it is now certain does not fit the profile of Gian Piero Gasperini.

And not even Claudio Ranieri, who has spoken clearly: “Not even the Champions would change my mind. I love this team and these colors, but if I stayed one more year at Roma it would be a mistake” he pointed out the Testaccino. But the fate of the Giallorossi bench seems closer and closer to being defined.
