Just over an hour lasted Anna Kalinskaya&#8217s Roman adventure. The Russian tennis player, the 28th seed, in fact, was eliminated in the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia by Peyton Stearns, world number 42, who won with a final score of 6-2 6-3.

A nightmarish start for Anna, who in a moment found herself down 0-3. The Muscovite tried to recover the disadvantage (2-3) but suffered a new partial of three consecutive games by the U.S. who won the first set.

The second set was a tough one.

In the second set there is more balance but it is again a partial three games in a row that dooms the Russian: from 3-3 Stearns wins the last three games, making the second partial her own as well (6-3).

Kalinskaya must thus bid farewell to the WTA 1000 in Rome. The Russian will return to the court next week at the WTA 500 in Strasbourg, in preparation for the’most important event on clay: Roland Garros, starting on May 25.
