Diego Simeone doesn't forget Inter: "Final thanks to great work"

Diego Simeone has double-tied his career to Atletico Madrid, which he has coached continuously since 2011, but he has crossed paths with Inter in a very important way in the past. Nerazzurri in 1998, when he won the Uefa Cup, he was instead on the field in a Lazio jersey on the famous May 5, 2002. Today, away from Milan, however, he decided to extol his former team in the run-up to the Champions League final.
It happened on Saturday, when he met with the Spanish press on the sidelines of the historic match in which Alexander Sorloth scored four goals for Atletico Madrid at Real Sociedad in the first half’hour of the match. But Cholo also decided to talk about Inter, and the goals achieved in recent years by the Beneamata.
“PSG has been working for years with the aim of achieving similar goals, but Inter has succeeded with a considerably smaller budget – Simeone pointed out. Two Champions League finals in three years can only be achieved with a lot of hard work, the only secret to achieve such results”.
“Inter shows how with continuity and group unity it is possible to build a strong team. We all want to win everything, championships, Champions League, national cups. However, who lifts the trophies, in the end, is only one team. And they make it clear how it is possible to reach the highest levels even with different resources” concluded Simeone.
