In Rome victorious return for Jannik Sinner

Over 104 days since his last match, the Australian Open final won over Alexander Zverev last January 26, Jannik Sinner returned to play on the ATP major circuit, of which he is number 1, in the second round of the men’s singles at the Internazionali d’Italia, and beat Argentine Mariano Navone, number 99, with a score of 6-3 6-4.
The first to have to save a break ball, to the general surprise, was Sinner, at 1-1 in the first set. but in the next game it was Jannik who made the break and the first partial was decided at that moment: no other break ball and set closed by the 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria at the second set point.
Also in the second set, the first to have to save a break ball is Sinner at 2-1 for Navone. On 3-3 Jannik misses three break points but the fourth, with a long backhand from the Argentine, is the good one, but in the next game there is the unexpected counterbreak.
The second set was a break point.
On 4-4, however, Sinner makes another break, goes to serve for the match and closes it after an hour and 38 minutes of play. In the third round the world number 1, who showed off a good performance but certainly far from his best due to enforced inactivity, will face ATP ranking number 93, Jesper de Jong of the Netherlands.
