The marriage between Jorge Martin and l’Aprilia could end after just one year. The centaur MotoGP world champion, according to rumors reported by Autosport and confirmed by multiple sources, is reportedly planning to terminate his contract with the Noale-based company as early as the end of 2025, one year ahead of the scheduled end of the contract until 2026.

The early months of 2025 have been a nightmare for the former Ducati rider, who has been injured three times and has only been on track at the Qatar Grand Prix, where he crashed, sustaining a fracture of about ten ribs.

Martin has reportedly decided to take advantage of a clause in his contract that would allow him to be released if he is not fighting for the world title. If there is no agreement to terminate, a legal battle between the two parties will be inevitable. Injuries aside, Martin would be disappointed with the bike’s performance and would decide to make an immediate change.

According to rumors, Jorge Martin is reportedly planning to move to Honda HRC, which in any case will not move until the Spaniard’s contractual issue with the Italian team is resolved.
