The Monday of the 36th day of Serie A opened with a very important result in view of salvation. At the Penzo, in fact, the Venezia won three vital points beating 2-1 the Fiorentina, which says in all likelihood goodbye to hopes of reaching fourth place.

After a long study phase, the first chance is for Fiorentina in the 30th minute: Fagioli recovers the ball in an advanced area, converges towards the center and concludes from the distance, finding an excellent intervention by Radu who deflects the ball into a corner. Venezia’s response came in the middle of the recovery with Yeboah, who skillfully broke free from the marking of the two defenders and kicked toward the goal without finding the mirror by a few centimeters.

The resumption began in the best of ways for Venezia, which found the lead in the 61st minute: Kike Perez crossed into the middle for Candé, who stoppped with his chest and beat De Gea. Seven minutes later, after Radu’s miracle on Ranieri to deny 1-1, the Lagunarians found the doubling goal with Oristanio, who only had to deposit into the net a kissing assist from Zerbin.

The goal was scored in the second half.

In Venezia’s best moment, however, it was Fiorentina who struck and reopened the match in the 77th minute: Mandragora received in the box from Adli, withstood contact with Candé and struck Radu under the crossbar. After a round of substitutions, the Viola threw themselves forward in search of an equalizer, but the one who came closest to scoring was Venezia, who was denied the third goal by an excellent intervention by De Gea.

The Viola’s goal was the first to be scored.

Thanks to this success, Venezia moved up to 29 points in the salvation zone, overtaking Lecce and Empoli. Fiorentina, on the other hand, remains stationary at 59 points suffering overtaking AC Milan.
