Carlo Ancelotti, first words as Brazil coach (and farewell to Real Madrid)

Carlo Ancelotti spoke for the first time as Brazil coach: “It is a great challenge, but I am still the coach of Madrid. I want to finish this fantastic adventure well. I know you are interested in what I will do. But I have to think about the days I have left here. Out of respect for this team and its fans, I am focused on the’last leg of this spectacular adventure”.

“Real Madrid will publish the note when they want to. There&#8217s no problem. I don&#8217t know when they will do it. They will do it at the times they see fit. Nothing to add”.

“Football, like life, is an adventure that begins and ends. I always thought that one day everything would end. A very good time is coming to an end. I had a lot of fun. But as in all things in life, there comes a time like this. If life ends, imagine if the adventure in a soccer team can&#8217t end. I had fun, I want to finish well. On the 26th I will talk about another challenge. I have never had any problems with the club and I will never have any. It is a club I cherish in my heart and I will keep it there even when this adventure is over. It is coming to an end after a few years in which we won many titles. With a fantastic memory that will last a lifetime”.

“Yes, I am very happy, I would have been happier if there had been no conference. I have to explain things that I don&#8217t want to explain, because I&#8217m Madrid until the 25th.Because I have a lot of respect for this jersey. I want to respect it until the last day. I would have liked to win the championship and the Champions League, but I am very happy” he added in a conference where obviously only his future was discussed.

And finally: “I never thought Madrid did not want me. Madrid loves me. Even if I go to Brazil on the 25th, Madrid has always loved me. It has always shown me affection. I couldn&#8217t have been the Madrid coach all my life. It ends for many reasons. The club may need new blood. I don&#8217t make a drama out of it. A thousand thanks to this club. And we will continue. I will root for Madrid all my life. It is a period that is ending. Spectacular. I never thought I would coach Madrid for six years, but it happened. It was a joint decision”.
