Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani overcame in three sets (7-5, 3-6, 10-7) the pair consisting of Coco Gauff and Eala. The two Italians reach the semifinals of the Internazionali d’Italia after the final, which they won, in the previous edition. In the semifinals there will be a rematch of the Olympics final. The Italian women will in fact face Mirra Andreeva and Shnaider, who overcame Dabrowski and Routliffe in three sets in the quarterfinals.

The serve in this match was absent for both pairs. Lots of breaks and counterbreaks on both sides. In the first set the American-Philippine pair was ahead 5-3 and 40-0. Sara and Jasmine, however, succeeded in the feat and took home the set by making an impressive 4 games in a row.

In the second partial, Coco Gauff, who is in the women’s singles semifinals after beating Mirra Andreeva in two sets, rises a lot, holding a lot both from the baseline and at the net. Paolini a bit inaccurate and Errani not too incisive under the net allowed the Gauff-Eala pair to take the match to the super tie break.

In the third and decisive set the Italian pair definitely rises in level. Under net Errani is perfect, with Jasmine Paolini creating the right opportunity for her partner to close with the volley. The dream of returning to the final for Errani-Paolini is still a reality, and they, and the entire Italian audience, hope to make it to the final act of the Internazionali d’Italia.
