Jan Zimmermann, Mint Vero Volleyball Monza speaks German again

Jan Zimmermann will be a player of MINT Vero Volley Monza for the 2025-2026 season. For the setter from Germany class ’93, who reunites with his national teammate Erik Röhrs, it is a return to the Monza jersey, following his experience in the 2022-2023 season.

Jan Zimmermann’s career began in the youth sector of Rottenburg, a club with which he made his first-team debut in the Bundesliga in the 2010-11 season. In the 2011-12 season, he played in the German cadet division with Georgii Allianz Stuttgart, while the following season he joined the federal club of Olympia Berlin, this time in the top division. After two seasons at Friedrichshafen, from 2013 to 2015, where he won a league title and two national cups, in the 2015-16 season he moved to Rüsselsheim until 2016-2017. In the 2017-18 championship he flies to France, in Ligue A, wearing the colors of Stade Poitevin, while in the following championship he is back in his homeland, this time with Charlottenburg. In March 2019, he leaves the German club to play in Belgium with Maaseik, in Liga A, where he ends the year, winning the Scudetto, and remains in the following one as well. In the 2020-21 season he landed in Italy, in SuperLega with Sir Safety Perugia, winning the Italian Super Cup, and in the 2021-2022 season with Padova. After starting the 2022-2023 championship with the Polish BBTS Bielsko-Biala team, he moved after 4 matches to Vero Volley Monza to replace the injured Fernando Kreling. In the 2023-24 championship he landed in Turkey, playing the Efeler Ligi with Galatasaray, but already in the following season he was in Italy again, this time at Gioiella Prisma Taranto, in Superleague. In the 2025-26 season the return to Monza.

In 2011 he participates with the German Under-21 representative team in the World Championship, while in 2012 he is engaged with the Under-20;Under-20 at the European Championship. He made his debut with the senior national team in 2015, winning the gold medal at the European Games and later the silver medal at the 2017 European Championship.

The German national team was a member of the Under-20 team.
