Barcelona: Joan Laporta quiet on Lamine Yamal’s future
Barcelona, after winning La Liga, is already thinking about next season. Not being among the 32 teams that will participate in the Club World Cup, the Blaugrana club is focusing on how to improve an already excellent squad.
The top priority is to sign, next July, the new contract to Lamine Yamal. The baby phenom has had an excellent season that has made him, without a shadow of a doubt, the most valued player ever. Barcelona wants to hold on to him for many years, as happened with Lionel Messi.
“It’s going to be okay. He is outstanding. And he is happy at Barcelona. We are working on the signing” the words of Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, to TV3. In short, there’s enormous optimism about the affair, not least because the young star adores Barça, a club he has always cheered for.
Obviously, he will be treated with kid gloves. He will have to be accommodated in everything. Joan Laporta is aware of this: “Somebody like Lamine, the way he has exploded this year, has to be treated in a special way. He is out of the’ordinary”, his further words certifying that the club is ready to make a major effort to make the most important player on the roster happy and, certainly, the present and future of Barcelona itself.
