Francesca Piccinini enters the Hall of Fame: the blue legend does not hide her excitement

The Hall of Fame in world volleyball is ready to officially welcome Francesca Piccinini: the news was confirmed on Tuesday and comes in a particularly important year for volleyball, which celebrates 130 since its birth. Piccinini herself, through her social profiles, commented with great emotion on the choice of IVHF.

“It is a great honor for me to enter the Hall of Fame of world volleyball alongside great athletes who have written the history of the sport – she wrote -. A small piece of this history also speaks of me. I am immensely grateful for the support and affection you show me every day, it all fills my heart”.

Born in 1979, on the strength of a 20-year career at the highest level, Francesca Piccinini boasts in her palmarès 5 league titles, 4 Italian Cups, 5 Italian Super Cups, 7 Champions Cups/Champions League, a CEV Cup, a Cup Winners Cup and a European Super Cup. With the national team she was world champion in 2002 in Germany and European champion in 2009 in Poland, among other achievements.

At the club level, she has worn the jerseys of Robur Massa, Carrarese, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Spezzano, Paranà (in Brazil), Bergamo, Chieri, LJ Modena, Casalmaggiore, AGIL Volley Novara and UYBA: in Busto Arsizio she played her last year of her career, in 2020-2021, after returning from an initial retirement, following her season in Novara in 2019.
