Roland Garros qualifiers: Lucrezia Stefanini enters main draw

Lucrezia Stefanini signs another victory, the decisive one, in the last qualifying round at Roland Garros. She wins, for the first time, access to the main draw of the Paris Slam. The Tuscan tennis player authoritatively overcame the last obstacle in the qualifiers, imposing herself over Slovenia’s Veronika Erjavec with a clear 6-3, 6-2, in a challenge dominated from start to finish.
Currently number 153 in the rankings, the Tuscan was able to make the most of the uncertainties of her opponent, number 176 in the world, capitalizing on the numerous errors made by the Slovenian. The match highlighted the mental and technical solidity of the Italian, who was able to strike at decisive moments, snatching Erjavec’s serve in both fractions and always maintaining control of the game.
With this performance, Lucrezia becomes one of three Italians – out of eight initially present in the qualifiers – to earn a pass to the main draw of the Paris Slam. An achievement that confirms the Italian player’s steady growth on the international scene and her desire to carve out a place for herself among the greats.
For Stefanini, this is the third career access to the main draw of one of the four Grand Slam tournaments; she had previously succeeded in 2023 at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
