Andy Roddick warned Jannik Sinner to expect a hostile crowd in Paris ahead of his first week at Roland Garros. If all goes well, the world number one could face three Frenchmen in the first four rounds of the Slam tournament. After his opener with Arthur Rinderknech, Sinner in the second round is expected to take on one of Richard Gasquet or Terence Altmane, and if he makes it to the fourth round, Arthur Fils could be waiting for him: some booing and booing could come from the stands in Paris, according to Roddick.

“All I can tell you is that it won&#8217t be as nice a reception as the one given to Sinner when he landed softly in Rome, receiving standing ovations even from the press when he spoke to the media”, are Roddick”s words to his podcast.

“With two/three Frenchmen as opponents, it will not be so easy. He will face some difficulties stemming from his suspension for the Clostebol case. But this at the moment does not seem to bother him too much”.

Sinner will take the court on Monday against Rinderknech, at a time yet to be determined.
