Jannik Sinner goes in the hunt for his second Slam of the season in Paris: after the final lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the Rome tournament, the first after 3 months of enforced stop due to the Clostebol case, the Blue will return to the court in France for his debut in Roland Garros 2025. His goal is to win the prestigious Paris tournament for the first time and continue the Grand Slam dream.

The South Tyrolean tennis player will face Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, world number 72, in the first round. The match is scheduled for Monday, May 26, at a time yet to be determined.

Numbered 1995, Rinderknech has reached career-high position number 42, his best ranking ever, and is currently ranked 72nd after a less-than-positive start to 2025.

The two have faced each other three times on the ATP circuit, with Sinner leading 2 wins to 1. The Frenchman beat the Blue in 2021 in Lyon in the first meeting between the two, but lost the next two matches in Antwerp 2021, and in the ATP Cup in 2022. The world number one is clearly the big favorite, but he has yet to beat the transalpine on clay.
