It’s over right away Daniil Medvedev&#8217s Roland Garros 2025: the Russian tennis player, who slipped to the 11th position in the ATP rankings, is the first big man to fall in the Paris tournament after a very tough match that lasted almost four hours against Cameron Norrie.

The British world number 81 won in five sets 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 1-6, 7-5.

After winning the first two sets, Norrie suffered a comeback by the Russian who managed to fight back after the nightmarish start and take the match to the fifth set.

In the last partial the dramatic blackout of Medvedev, who ahead 5-3 lost the last four games of the match, surrendering 7-5. For him it is the sixth career first-round defeat at the French Open.

No problems, however, for two other big names in the field: Alex De Minaur closed out his match against Djere in three sets, and Alexander Zverev also beat U.S. Tien in three sets.
