Lewis Hamilton attacks Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur’s retort

Lewis Hamilton attacks Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur responds. Friday in Montmeló was once again proved stingy of satisfaction for the Englishman, who hotly called the SF-25 “unrideable” in a hard team radio then reiterating the concept at the end of the day. Words that did not go unheard, but to which the team principal of the Cavallino decided to reply.
“Today’s comments on the radio were a bit extreme – Vasseur told ‘Sky Sport‘ referring to Hamilton‘s criticism.
The car was not as horrible as he called it, and this is shown by the fact that Lewis had a very good stint on soft tires. His times were in line with those of the top two in the standings”.
So Vasseur went even deeper on the Hamilton controversy: “I will say something I have said before. I think comments made in team radio while driving are not a problem. And it is especially so the moment you get out of the car and you are able to have a constructive debriefing. The important thing is this”.
“In the morning we were able to have a very good pace, while in the afternoon we struggled more – however, Vasseur admitted -. Charles Leclerc was also having a good lap, before the’mistake came in Turn 7. Then we struggled a bit at the start of the long runs, but that was the case for both Ferrari and a couple of other teams. The reason lies in the fact that the track was very dirty”.
