Roland Garros, when Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani play against Sun and Yuan

Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani will play for access to the round of 16 at Roland Garros 2025 by taking on the pair composed of New Zealand’s Lulu Sun and China’s Yue Yuan in a challenge that will take place on the Paris clay later on Saturday, starting no earlier than 12:30 p.m.
Errani and Paolini come to the challenge on the strength of a great victory. Indeed, last Wednesday the golden pair of Italian women’s doubles got the better of Erin Routliffe and none other than Viktoria Azarenka in two sets. More trouble for the next rivals, who had gotten the better of Blinkova and Sherif 2-1 the day before.
Interestingly, the clash represented an absolute first. Indeed, it had not yet happened to Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani to face Lulu Sun and Yue Yuan together. It is important, however, not to underestimate the challenge, for a pair reduced from their triumph at the Internazionali d’Italia and now aiming for that Roland Garros that escaped, in the 2024 edition, at the final act that saw Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova prevail.
Errani and Paolini at Roland Garros are aiming to win their eighth doubles title since they have been a steady pairing on the court: the two champions have won together the WTA 250 in Monastir in 2023, the WTA 500 in Linz, the Internazionali d’Italia, the Paris Olympic tournament and the WTA 1000 in Beijing in 2024, the WTA 1000 in Doha and again the Internazionali di Roma in 2025.
