Roland Garros, Errani/Paolini beat Sun/Yuan: round of 16 reached

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini continue their journey at Roland Garros. The Italian pair, the second seed in the women’s doubles draw, liquidated in two sets the duo formed by New Zealand’s Lulu Sun and China’s Yue Yuan with a final score of 7-5 6-1 after an hour and 27 minutes of play.
Uphill start for Sara and Jasmine who, after missing 5 break points in the third game, lose their service in the next one (1-3). The reaction of the Azzurri, however, is immediate: hooking and even overtaking (4-3). Sun/Yuan don’t take it and recover the break disadvantage (4-4) but on the most beautiful point they give up the serve (5-6) with Errani/Paolini who close the partial on serve (7-5).
After a complicated first set, the second partial is downhill for the Italian duo who find the break in the opening (1-0) and repeat it in the fifth game (4-1), before closing on 6-2 final.
Thanks to this victory Errani and Paolini fly to the round of 16 of the Paris Slam where they will face the pair formed by Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia and German Laura Siegemund, the 13th seed in the seeding.
