Roland Garros: Flavio Cobolli surrenders to Alexander Zverev

Finishes in the third round Flavio Cobolli&#8217s adventure at Roland Garros. The Roman tennis player, in fact, surrendered to Alexander Zverev, number 3 in the ATP ranking and seeding, who won with a final score of 6-2 7-6 6-1 after two and a half hours of play.

An uphill start for the Azure who gives up the serve in his first service game (0-2). Cobolli was contracted, barely managing to win the third game (1-2) before suffering another break in the fifth game (1-4) that propelled Zverev to the win of the first set (6-2).

The blue blue’s first service game was a tough one.

In the second set, the Roman tried to fight back by immediately going ahead by a break (2-0) but was taken back by Zverev (2-2). Ditto in the next four games with Cobolli going up 4-2 and Zverev retaking him at 4-4. It thus comes down to the tie-break, won by the German 7-4.

Despite the scare, the third set for Zverev was little more than a formality: from 1-1 the world number 3 strung together five consecutive games and made the match his own, qualifying for the round of 16 of the Paris Slam.
