Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori are in the round of 16 in the men’s doubles draw at Roland Garros. The Italian pair, seeded No. 4, beat the duo formed by India’s N. Sriram Balaji and Mexico&#8217s Miguel Reyes-Varela in two sets.

6-3 6-4 was the final score in favor of the Azzurri, which accrued after an hour and 24 minutes of play. In the first set, what made the difference was a break, scratched by Bolelli/Vavassori in the fourth game (3-1) and preserved until the final 6-3.

In the second set the balance lasts longer but it is still a break that dooms Balaji/Reyes-Varela: in the fateful seventh game the number 4 seeded players snatch the serve from their rivals and make no mistake on serve, closing on the final 6-4.

Thanks to this success, Bolelli and Vavassori reach the round of 16 of the Paris Slam: awaiting them are Australian Olympic champions Matthew Ebden and John Peers, the number 15 seed on the scoreboard.
