Roma, Friedkins comment on Gian Piero Gasperini's arrival

This is the message to fans from Dan and Ryan Friedkin posted by Roma on its website. “Our family&#8217s commitment to Roma has never been stronger. It is a commitment to’excellence, to’organization and a clear identity– it reads. But most of all, it is a commitment to the future of this club, a future that includes a new stadium: a home worthy of our fans, which we promise to make”.

“We are truly honored to be the custodians of’AS Roma. It is an honor that binds us, a total commitment and faithful dedication to the preservation of all that makes this club and this city the best in the world. Together, as a team, we will continue to grow, to fight, to dream and to win”.

Talking about Gasperini, however, they emphasize that he is “the right coach for this moment and the leader for what is to come”. “Flanked by the invaluable advice of Claudio Ranieri– they add -, who will remain with us as a trusted manager and senior advisor to the ownership, we are confident that he will lead Roma to an exciting and winning future”.

The Friedkins announced that July 22, the date of the club’s founding, will be “a day of celebration” because it will lead to the centenary year, stressing that the ownership is “progressively re-appropriating the historic ASR coat of arms”.
