Matteo Berrettini, comeback slips again

Nothing to do for Matteo Berrettini. The Roman tennis player, who was forced to withdraw with Casper Ruud in the round of 16 of the Internazionali d’Italia for the ‘usual’ abdominal injury, will also not participate in Queen’s, scheduled for June 16-22.
After missing Roland Garros and the Stuttgart ATP 250, in which he was defending the 250 points from the final he won in 2024, the Roman tennis player will also have to forgo the London ATP 500, which saw him triumph for two consecutive years (2021, 2022).
There is thus increasing concern for the Blue also ahead of Wimbledon, which starts on Monday, June 30. Certainly the withdrawal from Queen’s is not a good sign ahead of the season’s most important event on grass.
In the last edition of the Championships, Berrettini was eliminated in the second round by world number one Jannik Sinner, who won the derby in four sets (7-6 7-6 2-6 7-6) after nearly four hours of battle.
