Palermo starts again with Filippo Inzaghi

Filippo Inzaghi is the new coach of Palermo. The Rosanero club, which will face the Serie B championship for the fourth consecutive year in the 2025-2026 season, has announced that it has reached an agreement with the coach from Piacenza, who had left Pisa a few days ago in the aftermath of the promotion to A won with the Tuscan Nerazzurri.

“Palermo FC announces that it has appointed Filippo Inzaghi as coach of the first team – reads the club’s note, published on Tuesday -. The technician, starting next July 1, will bind himself to the Rosanero club with a multi-year contract. Inzaghi is welcomed to Palermo by the City Football Group, President Mirri and the entire Rosanero family”.

Born in 1973, after a brilliant career as a footballer in which he won, among other trophies, the 2006 World Cup, two Champions Leagues, a World Cup for clubs, three Scudetti and a Coppa Italia, Filippo Inzaghi began his coaching career in 2012, leading the Allievi nazionali of AC Milan, and then arrived at the Rossoneri first team in 2014-2015.

After his experience at AC Milan, he led Venezia, Bologna, Benevento, Brescia, Reggina, Salernitana and Pisa, winning three promotions: the first from C to B with Venezia in 2016-2017, the second from B to A with Benevento in 2019-2020 and the third in the season just ended, with Pisa. At Palermo he takes the place of Alessio Dionisi, who left the Rosanero at the end of the season.
